Introduction
Divination game is a very popular activity nowadays. The ritual sense of predicting fate has also been dispelled by the times. Among them, tarot card divination is the most popular one. There are 78 cards in total in tarot card. Take a few cards from them, and then put out the corresponding card array, you can accurately test some of his past, current situation, and even roughly explore some of the future situation, and get some corresponding advice.
Today's young and middle-aged children are in the face of too much pressure to pursue the tarot card, hoping to enhance their self-esteem through Tarot Divination. However, most of the younger teenagers do not have the skills to use Tarot on their own, and even spend money on the Internet or go to the physical store for divination. Tarot is an ancient and academic way of divination in Europe. In the traditional sense, tarot cards are not customized for children. In addition, the cards are all witchcraft, and with some dark styles, they are not suitable for children to be close to.
I will design a set of Tarot brand specially designed for young children. After investigating Tarot's artistic significance and children's product preferences, I will redraw the pattern on the card based on the traditional Rider-Waite, so that young people or younger children have the desire to get close to the Tarot brand, and get more recognition from their parents. Children can use this set of tarot cards for their own divination. In addition to the Tarot brand, there will be some new peripheral products for children with the nature of play. Create a fun Tarot brand that is fun, stress free and encourages kids to find confidence.
Brand Strategy
Brand Vision
Give children a different Tarot world, a Tarot brand that let children imagine and relax. Children's connection with tarot is not only because of curiosity, but also because of worry. So the first thing about my Tarot brand is that it allows young children to have affinity at a glance, and also to read and understand the contents of the deck in a relaxed way. This brand has some magic elements, with some pretty style and modern sense, so that children can better understand it, and everyone has a kind of affinity for it. My brand image is positioned between innocence, fun, imagination and exploration. Innocence, fun is based on the Tarot brand content. I will let small customers know Tarot again in a lovely and friendly style, and also let small customers use the product have a relaxed and interesting experience. Exploration means that my brand has some hand-made creative surroundings, which are all made by small customers themselves.
Brand Plan
So I'm going to re integrate the deck. With the most widely spread Rider-Waite as a reference, in line with the content of the original Tarot, at the same time, rearrange the design of the card face content, continue to use the meaning of the content of the card face, but also let the Tarot keep its original sense of mystery. I first designed four children's cartoon characters: tabby cat, blue bull, little witch and owl. I designed different Tarot stories based on these cartoon characters. My brand name is WIT PEDI, witch pedia, because it is a Tarot brand centered on young children. The purpose of young children's divination is to worry and relieve they worries. So my Tarot will make some corresponding encouragement cards to let the children have confidence to overcome their worries. In addition to some encouragement cards and blessing charms, I will also customize some beautiful three-dimensional paper model handcrafts to attract children's interest and cultivate children's fun of hands-on.
Logo Design
This is a divination brand for children, so the brand name has some childlike"WIT PEDI"and the Chinese name is" 女巫全书 ". The word "wit" can be regarded as the meaning of wisdom or witch. Pedia is a familiar word for young children. Because every child will have an encyclopedia in the process of growing up, the original meaning of the brand name is "Witch Pedia". Because "witch" itself is a magic element, but there are too many syllables in the combination of the two words and some tongue twists. In order to make it easier for children to read and remember, we chose the most syllable part of the word as the brand name.
I chose the combination of arch, moon and stairs as my brand logo. The inspiration of this design comes from this poster. The concept of this sign is that the moon, as a very mysterious sign, is also an important regular visitor in the Tarot element, and then the combination of doors and stairs. In this way, the design of this sign is an open theme. The combination of doors and stairs, what kind of world is the back door of stairs, depends on everyone Imagine, to explore, to create, this is also an important theme of my brand - adventure, imagination, fun, to explore a new world. This is also the reason why there are so many manual products in my products. Small customers who use this product can complete some peripheral products by manual ability, explore themselves and have the confidence to explore.
Selection of color and Font
In terms of font selection, I chose sans serif font with some playful style, and the font is relatively large, which can convey information accurately, and is readable for younger children. Clear font can make information more quickly conveyed, which is more important than visual expression and style, and has a high degree of identification. After comparing a number of interesting fonts, I chose gummy in English and "children's face style of cast character"in Chinese. The similarity between the two typefaces is quite large. Both of them have a very thick edge, which is the focus point of vision. Because of the irregular shape of the font, with freedom and randomness, it is also very suitable for naive and lively children.
In terms of color selection, I choose purple, orange and green as the main colors of my brand. Orange represents the stars and the moon. It is a kind of ornament and a more active color. Green is a more moderate color, and also the color closest to children. It represents nature, freedom and relaxation, and also the hair color of witch in my design image. Purple stands for wisdom, mystery and exploration.
The redesign of the tarot cards
If tarot is the first step to distance children, a Tarot that fits children's vision, first of all, it is to make Tarot cute, cartoon and convey a pleasant vision. In the process of re creating the tarot, I also looked for many other designers to re design the Tarot scheme. Because Tarot has a long history and strong representativeness, and its image and mode in people's mind are basically fixed. Tarot even has a set of special blue rule formula. Any redesign of tarot can't go beyond this rule, otherwise it's out of the track associated with tarot. Using this card in divination also makes users think it's not convincing. So my redesign needs to draw another one based on the visual map of Rider-Waite to build a new design, and can not deviate from the original image too much.
The original tarot is similar with playing card, and the patterns on the card back are all same. While the back is the first perspective of interaction between Tarot and divination participants, because when drawing cards, it is drawing cards from a pile of cards with the same color, so the color on the back often has a mysterious visual impact, like an invisible guide. In the original tarot card, its back is a star pattern, symbolizing mystery and nature, and I also continue to use the vision of the star in my design, plus the sun and the combination of four elements, in order to maintain the mystery feeling of Tarot.
Peripheral Production
Packing design
This is a product for children aged 8-15, there can be a breakthrough in the shape and structure of the packaging. The shape of this packaging looks like a gift box, with a sense of childhood surprise, as well as the nature of innocence and play. It is a shape children like. In the design of children's products, the form of illustration is to give children a sense of visual comfort, relaxation and identity. So I drew two illustrations as the main visual place of packaging modeling. One is blue color, the other is green color. These two colors are like children's general protective colors, which can give children a good visual feedback. In terms of the content of the illustration, I continue to use a wild imagination.
Promotion
Through this kind of exhibition, I can attract more people to visit the shopping center and take this opportunity to sell my products. There is a large flow of people in the shopping mall. Parents often take their children shopping together. Children's painting exhibition can undoubtedly attract the children's curious eyes. In addition to the exhibition, there are parent-child activities, inviting children to play Tarot Card games with their parents, as well as handmade.
Summary
After a series of research and popularization on the artistic value of tarot, we redesigned Tarot in our own way and gave it back to the children in an interesting way. At present, both adults and children will find a way to support themselves and relieve their emotions under their own troubles. Tarot Card divination is a very interesting form, but there is a big gap between the depth of tarot card and children, so my brand is to let children have a distance to these profound things, children can have a set of their own tarot card for their own divination, can also release their pressure in happiness. Tarot can be a game that makes children happier.
